Throughout the month of March, Lucy and I will have art hanging in the Zootown Arts Community Center’s Youth Gallery. Although we had three months to work on art, a lot of the art was completed in late January and all of February! We are doing this to show how fun art can be and for the experience. All of our work has been mod podged onto wooden panels of various sizes. The title of our show is a Kindness of Cousins, and the subjects of the pictures range from fish to birds.

Great Gray Ghost
This is a fully black-and-white piece of a Great Gray Owl in flight. I made this one because I have always loved the details that cover the owls feathers. The stippling in the wing feathers took about three hours

We All Started Out Small
Lucy and I collaborated on a 36″ by 24″ wooden panel and covered it in Lupine and bees. There is always so much lupine at our cabin in spring and they are really pretty so we made some huge ones and added bees over the mistakes

I Smell A Fire
This picture consists of acrylic paint and was outlined in micron. I did this piece because up Rock Creek every now and then we see some Sawyer Beetles (fire beetles).
-Lucy
These pieces and more will be available for purchase in the Youth Gallery for all of March. Lucy and I will be there from 5:00-7:00 today to celebrate the opening day. I hope you enjoy the art!
